my prayer

I forgive my sins
I accept my shortcomings
I give of myself what I am prepared to give - in the moment - I am prepared to give it

I open my hands to the fruits of life
I open my eyes to the consequence of my actions
I open my mind to the truth and to reason
I open my heart to love and be loved
I open my soul to the passion of purpose
I open my fate to forge my own path

I surrender myself to the oneness of all things
In the unity of all I am truly my own.

My Facebook Song

Don't want to engaged to you on Facebook
Don't ask me why
It's complicated

And just because I like your status
That doesn't mean that we are
In a relationship

Why wont you just quit poking me
Please don't take this comment personally
Don't want to get engaged to you in Facebook
May I suggest we just be friends

I've seen your profile
I've even liked your page
You've switched to timeline
We're not at the same stage because I

Don't want to engaged to you on Facebook
Don't ask me why
It's complicated

And just because I like your status
That doesn't mean that we are
In a relationship

Why wont you just quit poking me
I can't be LinkedIn definitely
Don't want to get engaged to you in Facebook
I'm anti-social media

I've checked your news feed
It says you want to chat
Please get the message
I won't install that app because I

Don't want to engaged to you on Facebook
Don't ask me why
It's complicated

And just because I like your status
That doesn't mean that we are
In a relationship

Why wont you just quit poking me
No I won't approve you as family
Don't want to get engaged to you in Facebook
May I suggest we just be friends

I'm tagged in pictures
I'm in all of your groups
Your application requests a second look because I

Don't want to engaged to you on Facebook
Don't ask me why
It's complicated

And just because I like your status
That doesn't mean that we are
In a relationship

Why wont you just quit poking me
Won't you take my update seriously
Don't want to get engaged to you in Facebook
I'm logging off for the last time

What Do You Do With Your Doubts? (WIP)

Well I find my mind is blinded by such simple situations,
and my constant cogitations lead me lost into frustration,
Though I can't make head or tail of it, nor hammer from the nail of it,
It seems I'm bound to fail of it: Uncertainty prevails.

I have heard each word you've said and I can sense your agitation
That your constant confoundation gives you cause for aggravation,
Perhaps I've a solution that may bring you restitution,
That may make a resolution of your mental destitution,

It seems to me, you verily,
Could live your life most happily,
If only you'd embrace the key to overcome uncertainty...

Well?

What do you do with your doubts?
Throw them out! Throw them out!
Tell me what do you do with your doubts?
Throw them out! Throw them out!

When you're not quite sure how to feel,
And you can't quite tell night from day,
The grass could be greener,
Your conscience could be cleaner,
And you still don't kow what to say.....

Well!

What do you do with your doubts?
Throw them out! Throw them out!
Tell me what do you do with your doubts?
Throw them out! Throw them out!

Though I note your proposition to improve my disposition,
Yet I fear that my condition begs a more complex prescription,

More to come....

Time is my road

Time is my road,
The world is my chariot
Always I'm seeking
but Never to find,
Should I arrive,
I'll soon be departed
May god leave me wander,
the rest of my life

May god leave me wander,
the rest of my life

Close and Faraway music update and other things.

My new hobby is sitting outside,
Coffee in one hand,
Smoke in the other,
And a book of poetry,
In my lap.

Today's favourites:
The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes
If by Rudyard Kipling
Snake by D. H. Lawrence

I went to open mic at The Free Hetherington yesterday and read some out and the we had a massive jam session it was really fun.

Today I've mostly been playing piano and composing for Close and Faraway.

The Bollero is sounding freaking awesome and really enjoying playing an arrangement for piano, it's got a tricky cross rhythm running through it which looks a bit like this:

So it's a bit tricky to play at first on the piano, but you get used to it!

I'm also very happy with how the (perhaps provisionally titled) "Omega's Theme" is going, the harmony in it is very sophisticated an I've learned a lot about making strange chord sequences work doing it so I'm delighted.

I was speaking to Rowan (our oboe player) about the music on fb and sent her some midi, she's been very encouraging. A clarinet has been added to the ensemble thanks to my friend Linzi, at first I was reluctant (more instruments = more work) but it's actually really helping me along I'm finding it really useful.

Stewart also broke some news about funding and venues for previews but I'm not sure how much I'm at liberty to blog yet :-)

Sweet dreams,

Antony

The Pioneer

comedy song from 06/06 .... 5 bloody years ago!!!

The Pioneer (July 2006)

I was working on the time machine in 1984
I set the relays up and jacked the flux capacitor
Then all of a sudden they had broken down my door
My team was stunned and one by one they fell down to the floor
Next thing I remember I woke up upon my back
I didn't know how long ago since everything went black
The smashed my lab and took my plans and my time machine was gone
I've never seen my team again or got the damn thing done, you see...

I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!

then in '89 I built a metal man of steel,
Automatonic Automaton Automatically real!
My greatest work complete / compete my rivalry could not
With the copyrighted trade-mark reservation that I bought
I tried to guard my patents / They were blatantly revoked
Robbed of my intellectual property and taken for a joke

Now he's working for the CIA the Rothschilds and the pope!

I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!

In 1999 I built a fusion power plant
Such a grand design / to find wrong those who said "You Can't!"
We would have cleaned up nuclear energy - our fission days were done,
But the Saudis and the Bushes didn't find the prospect fun...
They appropriated all my workings on atomic combination,
And they tried to hush me up to hide my research from the nation,
Now they track me with a microchip to make sure I don't tell,
And they've designed a stinking nuclear-fusion powered oil well!
I tell ya...

I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!
I was a pioneer - They stole my idea!

The Heart of Matters

We've tried for so long to get on with each other,
That somewhere we went wrong and forgotten ouselves,
We created a mess just to blame one another,
It's a shame if this mess is the best we can do...

Our blame and shame's our claim to fame, we're always finding flaws,
Though we complain for all our pain we really are the cause,

Let's get down to the heart of matters,
'Cos it's the heart that matters most,
And these are matters of the heart,
Lets dig down to the root of the problem,
'Cos with our problems taking root,
It's the root where problems start.

Nympholepsy

Nympholepsy  (March 2005)

Things that are and things that were lie heavily on me,
Like things that have yet to come...
"Would-have-beens" and "could-have-beens" and "never-ever-will-bes",
The things that I should have done

Nympholepsy!
I hope you find what you're looking for,

Father-Time won't save me from this
Not in this life or the next,
The past is dim, the presents dark,
Time will never clear this mist,

Father-Time won't save me from this
The future brings no light forever,
Father-Time won't save me from this,
Can't save me from the never...

Things we've seen, places we've been and where we go tomorrow,
There's something we're searching for...
I've lived this life, I've tried and strived but never have been able,
To find just that little bit more...

Nympholepsy!
I hope you find what you're looking for,

Father-Time won't save me from this
Not in this life or the next,
The past is dim, the presents dark,
Time will never clear this mist,

Father-Time won't save me from this
The future brings no light forever,
Father-Time won't save me from this,
Can't save me from the never...

I hope you find what you're looking for
I hope you find what you're looking for
I hope you find what you're looking for
I hope you find what you're looking for

A Music Poem

So much of our breath is wasting, squandered are our words,
We've so much, the more to give them, the less seems quite absurd...
And yet we, in all good conscience, spend each waking day,
Speaking as though spoken-word, spoke all we had to say...

Why ever talk when you can sing?
Are words your only music?
Your music is your everything!
You little bird, you've taken wing!
Now put your heart into it,
And let your voice give your life meaning...

Time is not our only measure, of the here and now,
Your time can make all time a treasure, there's little doubt, here's how,
Just give your all, and everything, to everything you do,
You have got so much to bring, there's so much more to you...

Why ever talk when you can sing?
Are words your only music?
Your music is your everything!
You little bird, you've taken wing!
Now put your heart into it,
And let your voice give your life meaning...

Hymn for the Redemption of Humanity

May we cope with every struggle and find hope in every loss,
Lest the world that we’re creating die like Jesus on the cross,
May we dare to show our neighbour all the love we show a friend,
And may Gaia our sweet mother bloom in harmony again,

May all children of creation live as Buddhas and as Christs,
May we each be our own saviour and leave no one sacrificed,
May the road that reaches Heaven meet the road that leaves from Hell,
May we all find our salvation in the moment that we dwell.

We are...

We are the dark and the light,
We're everything thats in between,
We are The Truth, and the lie,
We act in all that you've forseen,

We're the voice inside your head,
We're the dream inside your bed,
We're the weakness and the strength,
We are the unholy descent!

We are your birth and your death,
We are the moment you're concieved,
We are the poison and the cure,
We're every falsehood you've believed,

We're the voice inside your head,
We're the dream inside your bed,
We're the weakness and the strength,
We are the unholy descent!

...And when we call you to the task
You'll do exactly as we ask...
...We are your god and satans will...
...We are the urge you have to kill!

[guitar solo]

We're the voice inside your head,
We're the dream inside your bed,
We're the weakness and the strength,
We are the unholy descent!

Similar But Not The Same

What I feel feels sanded down,
Like the 'sorries' thrown around,
Non-commital, void and null,
Vacant, colourless and dull

Disjointed, numb and sorry sighs,
Surreal and loose-limbed lullabies
Eminate in muffled haze
And part in misty, morning rays

As I age, my virtue fades
Into routine acts of praise
And although it may seem insane,
It's similar, but not the same!

What I feel feels so dumbed down
Like 'I love yous' thrown around,
Lacking in a truth so pure,
Sordid, crass and insecure

Disjointed, numb and sorry sighs,
Forlorn, lacklusture, lonely cries
Eminate in muffled haze
And die in darkened morning shade

As I age, my virtue fades
Into routine acts of praise
And although it may seem insane,
It's similar, but not the same!

If I'm unique in my kindness,
...I really can't see how...
'Coz in this sorry, selfish state...
...I seem to be drowned out

As I age, my virtue fades
Into routine acts and praise
Now and then I feel the strain,
It's similar, but not the same...

...Now and then I feel the pain,
I'm similar, but not the same.
