You can't be in a relationship with someone except for 'selfish' reasons otherwise it's not a relationship it's doing someone a favour. You want to be involved with someone because You Want Them. You want someone to be involved with you because They Want You not because they feel they should because you want them.
Love is, and should always be, Selfish.
